Conwell-Egan’s rising junior, Julia Horger, emerged as the top local girls’ finisher at the prestigious U.S. Marine Corps Junior and 16-and-under Wrestling Nationals, securing a gold medal, writes Drew Markol for the Bucks County Courier Times.

Horger, who maintained an undefeated 22-0 record last season and won a PIAA title at 106 pounds, triumphed with a 9-6 decision over California’s Martee Solomon in the 16-and-under freestyle classification.

Horger’s success reflects her dedication and training at Misfits Girls Wrestling, a gym founded by her mother, Jodie Horger, in Bensalem

Palisades’ rising senior, Savannah Witt, captured a silver medal in the Junior freestyle event at 120 pounds. Witt, who went 31-0 during the scholastic season, previously won a PIAA title at 118 pounds.

The medal rounds for boys in both Junior and 16-and-under freestyle will take place on Wednesday in Fargo, continuing the excitement and showcasing more local talent.
