Determining the Future of the Radnor Cabrini University Campus

As Villanova puts its own renovations on the Cabrini campus in Radnor, it is also looking at ways to honor the university's legacy.

Radnor’s Cabrini University officially closed on June 30 and will now become an extension campus for Villanova University

The closing brings an end to a campus that had been home to Cabrini students since 1957, writes Katie Lewis for Main Line Today.

Villanova, located just two-and-a-half miles from Cabrini, will now guide the 112-acre campus’ future.

Students who still had time at Cabrini are finding new colleges at places like Ursinus, Holy Family, Gwynedd Mercy and Eastern universities, all who have committed to accepting the students in fall 2024 as partner institutions.

The campus name will still be Cabrini, named for Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini

It will also honor her and Cabrini University’s legacy by establishing a center on immigration, incorporating the work of Cabrini’s Wolfington Center into Villanova programs for social change, and continuing to fund the scholarship program with Cabrini High School in New Orleans.

“Villanova’s and Cabrini’s shared faith, common values and corresponding missions allowed for a strong alignment of two like-minded institutions,” observed Villanova President Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD.

Donohue indicated that the Cabrini campus could provide opportunities for housing, recreation and dining, along with new spaces to support Villanova Athletics.
