As summer approaches, Bucks County’s hot dog scene is sizzling with unique offerings. Local eateries are serving up inventive hot dogs that delight both traditionalists and adventurous eaters, writes Michele Haddon for the Bucks County Courier Times.  

Cheese Dawgs in Bristol offers over three dozen specialty hot dogs. Highlights include the Philly Surf & Turf with cod, Wacky Mac with mac ‘n cheese and Buffalo chicken, and Pleasant Pig with pulled pork and bacon.  

Their Beast Challenge dares customers to finish a two-foot hot dog in 10 minutes. 

The Burgerly in New Hope features the Dam Dog, topped with pulled BBQ brisket chili, pickled cabbage, and spicy mayo. 

Giovanni’s DILLicious Pickles in Croydon serves a Pickle Hot Dog, with an all-Kosher hot dog inside a hollowed-out dill pickle, and offers Loaded Pickle Hot Dogs with flavors like BLT and Buffalo Dilly. 

Hang Over’s Café food trucks in Quakertown and Warminster serve the Breakfast Dog, a deep-fried hot dog wrapped in Cooper cheese, topped with bacon and an over-easy egg. 

The Speckled Egg Café in New Hope offers creative hot dogs like the Seattle Dog with cream cheese and caramelized onions.
