Newtown Square Restaurant Among World’s Best Wine Spots
One of the world’s best places for wine is right here in Newtown Square, according to Wine Spectator Magazine, writes Max Bennett for Patch.
The leading authority on wine named the Italian restaurant Tecca Newtown Square at 191 S. Newtown Street Road among the world’s best restaurants for wine.
The magazine noted that the restaurant’s strengths are its wines from Bordeaux, France; Piedmont, Italy; and California.
Tecca Newtown Square has a $25 corkage fee, a wine inventory of 15,000 and a nearly 500-wine selection, Wine Spectator reports.
Tecca’s general manager J.C. Rizzo also serves as the house sommelier.
The restaurant’s name appears on a list of winners of Wine Spectator’s 2024 Restaurant Awards.
The awards program recognizes 3,777 dining destinations from the 50 states in the U.S. and from more than 75 countries.
“The restaurant industry is growing and thriving, with restaurant openings surpassing pre-pandemic levels for the first time. To take advantage of the uptick, restaurateurs are investing in their wine programs,” Marvin R. Shanken, Editor and Publisher of Wine Spectator, said.
“Restaurants that make wine a priority are what the Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards program is all about.”
