While retirement is supposed to be relaxing, that doesn’t mean you can’t make money or stay active. There is an abundance of work-from-home opportunities for U.S. retirees. Here are some remote jobs for retirees, according to SmartAsset.  

Bookkeeper 

Average annual salary: $42,854 

Basic accounting skills are required for this position, which involves financial record keeping for different businesses. Bookkeepers track purchases, invoices, sales, and other transactions. 

Paralegal  

Average annual salary: $58,630-$118,990 

This position sometimes requires a certification or degree in paralegal studies, although it may not always be necessary. Paralegals are responsible for helping lawyers in researching legal cases, recordkeeping, organizing documents, and drafting correspondence for trials.  

Transcriptionist  

Average annual salary: $41,453  

Fast-typing and good listening skills are required for this gig, which requires typing up the words spoken on audio recordings. Some transcriptions required a specialized knowledge in a particular industry.
