Broomall Fire Company Discontinues Annual Carnival Fundraiser

Children try their luck at a Broomall Fire Company carnival game.

A 30-year annual spring tradition, the Broomall Fire Company Carnival, has come to an end, writes Max Bennett for Patch.

The Broomall Fire Company announced May 8 it will no longer host the annual fundraising event

The announcement was shared on social media. It stated that the carnival had “unintended consequences impacting our community and local businesses.”

The fire company said it had tried to address growing concerns over attendee behavior but could not resolve the issues.

“We deeply value the relationships we have with our neighbors and local businesses, recognizing the vital role they play in supporting our endeavors,” the statement reads. “Therefore, after careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue our annual carnival fundraiser.”

Anyone who still has Majestic Midway credits can use them at the Goshen Fire Company Fair or any other event hosted by Majestic Midway.

“As we bid farewell to one tradition, we look forward to creating new opportunities or community engagement and fundraising,” the statement reads. “Together we hope to uphold the values that make Marple Township a special place.”

Meanwhile, the fire company is looking for alternate fundraising.
