PECO is dedicated to reducing its operations-driven emissions and supporting cleaner energy efforts throughout the region.

As part of its goal to educate customers and make a positive impact on the planet, PECO joined hundreds of thousands of participants around the world in recognizing Earth Hour on March 23. From 8:30-9:30 PM, PECO powered down the iconic LED Crown Lights system atop its Philadelphia headquarters as a symbolic “lights off” in support of doing something positive for the planet.

This movement supports PECO’s Path to Clean commitment, leading the region’s transition to a cleaner energy future. Through this commitment, PECO supports customers in their efforts to reduce emissions through access to cleaner energy solutions. The company has numerous programs in place to help customers transition to cleaner energy solutions, including energy efficiency rebates and incentives.

Started in 2007 by the World Wildlife Foundation as a symbolic lights-out event in Sydney, Australia to raise awareness of global climate change, Earth Hour is now one of the world’s largest grassroots movements for the environment. Held every year on the last Saturday of March, Earth Hour engages more than 400,000 supporters in more than 190 countries and territories, all taking action to ensure a brighter future for people and the planet.
