Settantatre Pasta blends delicious with gluten-free in its line of pastas, created by Matthew Gentile and Genna Curcio.

Matthew Gentile and Genna Curcio are passionate about creating pasta for those who have to eat gluten-free. It was the inspiration for their Milmont Park business, Settantatre Pasta.

“It’s an actual labor of love,” said Curcio.

When Curcio was diagnosed with celiac disease more than 10 years ago, the doctors kicked pasta off her food list.  Curcio, who’s Italian, found that tough to swallow.

Matt, at the time, was executive chef at the Panorama Wine Bar in Old City.

He spent the next eight years trying different pasta recipes until he perfected one so his wife could enjoy her favorite food.

“I made the gluten-free pasta to make her life better,” he said.

The couple started with the recipe and opened Settantatre Pasta in 2021.

They offer a menu of rotating fresh gluten-free pastas.

“They taste exactly like regular pasta. You won’t be able to tell the difference,” Curcio said.

There’s string pasta and stuffed pasta and more than a half-dozen varieties of ravioli, all made with local eggs and cheeses.

There are also gluten-free sauces and prepared meals.

They also create a traditional version for every gluten-free option.
