Restaurateur Mark Callazzo and partner Lee Sanchez are taking over a street-level space inside Suburban Station to open a new second Rhythm & Spirits, writes Jason Sheehan and Kae Lani Palmisano for Philadelphia Magazine.

Rhythm & Spirits has its first location in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and the new Philadelphia location is expected to share the same bright colors, lysergic acid tiki vibes, and a tropical-ish theme.

“Many of our customers are from Philadelphia, so we are really excited to open our second location in Center City,” Sanchez said in a press release sent to Foobooz.

The Philly location will be roughly twice the size of the Atlantic City location at roughly 4,500 square feet, and will include the 32 Chocolate Speakeasy — a Philly version of Bar 32 Chocolate — which is the spot that gave away two Golden Tickets to Taylor Swift’s sold-out Philly shows for Christmas 2022 and is a well-known chocolatier.

The menu will feature modern Italian flavors, such as Southern-fried chicken parm, limoncello-glazed bacon, and oysters.

Another key component is that there is not a traditional bar, but rather all cocktails will be ordered and served at the table.

“We can’t wait for Philadelphia to see why we’ve become ‘A.C. Famous’,” said Callazzo.

The opening is expected in early 2024.
