Nemours Children's Health has partnered with Crozer Health to provide pediatric services.

The nonprofit Nemours Children’s Health is now an affiliate of Crozer Health, providing pediatric care for the healthcare group, writes Harold Brubaker for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Nemours, with hospitals in Wilmington and Orlando, began staffing the neonatal intensive care unit at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland this January and is starting pediatric cardiology services at Crozer.

Crozer-Chester is the only neonatal intensive care unit in Delaware County for seriously ill newborns.  According to state data, the unit has 18 bassinets, but only eight were staffed in 2022.

The unit had 158 admissions in 2022.

The affiliation with Crozer Health boosts Nemours’ presence in Southeastern Pennsylvania after it lost a 25-year affiliation with Main Line Health in 2022.

Nemours employs two former Crozer primary care pediatricians. Its clinicians are also on the neonatology team at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and Trinity Health’s St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington.

This is the third time Crozer has negotiated core services with other health systems in six months.

Temple Health provides a cardiothoracic surgeon to Crozer-Chester, the county’s only trauma center.

Jefferson Health provides stroke coverage.
