Jason Kelce officially announced his retirement Monday afternoon.

There’s been a lot of speculation on whether Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce’s retiring before next season, as well as some mixed messages from Kelce himself.

But one Eagles player, tackle Jordan Mailata said Kelce won’t be playing for Philly next fall., writes Max Weisman for the New York Post.

Mailata made the comments during Super Bowl 2024 week.

“There’s no shot,” Mailata told NBC Sports Philadelphia. “You’re telling me he’s going shirts off in the games, gambling in the casinos, he’s coming back? No way. He’s having too much fun.

“He’s out there living his life. And I’m going to miss him for sure, man. This has been the greatest six years of my life for sure, being here in the NFL and getting to meet people like Jason Kelce.”

There are also reports that Kelce has met with ESPN, Fox, and Amazon about broadcasting deals.

Kelce has not officially announced his decision, which has caused a lot of chatter amongst fans and teammates on social media and elsewhere.

Kelce was a sixth-round draft choice by the Eagles in the 2011 NFL Draft. He’s been with the Eagles ever since and won Super Bowl 2018 with the team.
