In a remarkable display of community spirit and generosity, Ken Kramer, Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer at First Resource Bank, initiated a fundraising campaign during No-Shave November to support the Chester County Food Bank. His unique approach involved asking colleagues to sponsor him for each day he refrained from shaving, with a humble request for just 1 penny per day or any amount team members were willing to pledge.

The response from the First Resource Bank team exceeded all expectations, with nearly 100 percent participation rallying behind Kramer’s cause. The collective effort resulted in an impressive fundraising total of over $2,750, showcasing the First Resource Bank team’s commitment to making a positive impact in the local community.

Recognizing the urgency of addressing food insecurity, Kramer’s fundraiser gained additional momentum as the Bentley Family pledged to match all donations to the Chester County Food Bank up to $500,000 through Dec. 24. This generous gesture effectively doubles the impact of each contribution, amplifying the positive change that these funds will bring to those facing food insecurity in the region.

The overwhelming support from the First Resource Bank team throughout this initiative underscores the organization’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement. They are no stranger to supporting local, having provided local schools and organizations roughly $425,000 in donations and support this year alone.

The success of the No-Shave November fundraiser serves as a testament to the collective power of individuals coming together for a common purpose.

As No-Shave November came to a close, he said, “I am humbled by the overwhelming support of my colleagues, not only for me but for our community. The ripple effect of doing good in our community cannot be underestimated. I am incredibly grateful to the Bentley Family for their efforts in matching donations and for the team at the Chester County Food Bank who work tirelessly to help those who are food insecure.”
