Boeing Grant to Support Foundation HOPE Housing Program
The Foundation for Delaware County announced that the Housing Opportunities Program for Equity (HOPE) has received an $80,000 grant from Boeing Philadelphia.
The Boeing grant will help fund the HOPE program’s mission to address immediate and systemic barriers to healthy housing for clients served by the Foundation’s public health programs.
“Our partnership with The Foundation for Delaware County’s HOPE program continues the mission to provide housing stability for underserved areas in our community and address the current and systemic barriers to healthy housing in Delaware County,” said Kathleen Jolivette, Boeing Vertical Lift vice president and general manager.
“These efforts with the HOPE program ultimately lead to better health, equity, and opportunity in Delaware County. At Boeing, we are committed to innovating and investing in efforts that build, enhance, and contribute to the communities where our employees live and work,” she said.
Stable housing is the foundation for people’s well-being, directly impacting health outcomes, educational opportunities, and neighborhood economic development. Entering its third year, HOPE offers a holistic approach to permanent housing.
HOPE intertwines policy advocacy, case management, housing placement, financial literacy, referral services, and direct financial relief to ensure Delaware County residents can maintain safe and affordable housing.
New Utility Stabilization Project Offered Through HOPE
If you are struggling with high utility bills, HOPE’s Utility Stabilization Project might be able to help.
Utilities play a vital role in a family’s ability to maintain stable housing. Affordable utilities are crucial to housing security because they guarantee that families can maintain a safe, comfortable, and healthy living environment without compromising on other essential expenses such as food, healthcare, and rent/mortgage payments.
The HOPE staff can assist families with enrolling in cost-saving programs, primarily PECO’s Customer Assistance Program (CAP).
The Customer Assistance Program (CAP) offered by PECO is designed to help make your electricity bill more manageable. By enrolling in CAP, PECO customers can benefit from a monthly credit applied directly to their electric bills.
Additionally, eligible participants may have the opportunity to obtain debt forgiveness over 12 months of consistent payments.
