Cardinal O’Hara’s junior guard Molly Rullo committed Nov. 16 to the Drexel University Dragons, continuing a family legacy.

Her parents, Jim and Maureen Rullo, also played college ball at Drexel, writes Josh Verlin for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Maureen Rullo scored more than 1,200 points playing from 1996 to 2000.

Jim Rullo played at Drexel from 1990-94, averaging 11.4 points and 4.2 assists as a senior. Today, he’s the head men’s basketball coach at Neumann University.

Molly has shown herself to be one of the better two-way players in the area as an underclassman.

She was a consistent starter for Cardinal O’Hara as a freshman, contributing to their Catholic League and PIAA Class 5A championship wins in 2021.

She averaged 17 points and six rebounds in her sophomore year, earning First-Team All-Catholic honors.

Since then, she has received more than a dozen college scholarship offers.

Despite a great experience at Drexel by both her parents, they wanted her to find the school that would provide the best experience for Molly.

“Ultimately, what set Drexel apart was being closer to home,” Molly said. “The environment, the city that they play in, the history.”
