Delaware County remote workers were well represented on a top 50 list of towns with the largest increase in workers at home.

So how many more Delaware County remote workers are there these days?

Of the top 50 communities ranked in Pennsylvania for the highest number of remote workers, Delaware County communities made the list four times, writes Chris Ullery for the Bucks County Courier Times.

Two of the towns cracked the top 10.

The data comes from the U.S. Census’ five-year American Community Survey of worker commutes in 2018 and 2021.

Haverford Township had the fourth-highest number of workers at home in the state.

About 2,482 more Haverford employees were working from home in 2021 than in 2018. That’s 5 percent of the labor force in 2018 versus 15 percent in 2021.

Only Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Lower Merion had higher numbers at home.

Upper Darby placed seventh for home workers. It had 1,916 more at home in 2021 than in 2018, or 3 percent in 2018 versus 8 percent in 2021.

Radnor Township, ranked much lower, at 28th.  About 1,373 more worked from home in 2021 than in 2018, or 10 percent versus 18 percent.

Finally, Maple Township, at 35th, had 1,286 more workers at home in 2021 than in 2018, or 5 percent versus 16 percent in 2021.
