America Haunts has declared the Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride in Glen Mills as the best over-the-top haunted attraction in the nation for 2023, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.

For 33 years, the Bates family at the Arasapha Farm has been scaring visitors with in-house designed props and digital effects, great actors, and professional makeup.

This year, there are several new sets on the hayride and corn trail, as well as new rooms in the Bates Motel.

“The build crew work all year to bring customers the best haunted attraction experience around,” said Randy Bates, founder of the iconic attractions.

There’s a drive-through insane asylum, a full-scale mockup of a Wild West ghost town with 15 buildings and a 200-foot-long cave. There are plenty of animatronics and performers along the way.

The Bates Motel experience, likewise, is terror close-up, enhanced with custom-made special effects and animatronics, a digital soundtrack, and lighting.

Guests can also walk the 2023-enhanced Haunted Corn Trail and experience the Revenge of the Scarecrows. Tall corn mingles with buildings and sets, animatronic monsters, and more than 30 actors in full makeup and costume.

Find out more details about what awaits at the Bates Motel attraction in the Daily Times.
