Pick-your-own is a popular activity especially apple-picking in Delaware County at these orchards.

There’s not quite a chill in the air, and the calendars still say it’s summer, but the signs are there that fall is beginning its march into our lives.

For some, that means apple-picking in Delaware County has arrived. Two officials orchards can help in your quest, writes Laura Brzyski and Bailey King for Philadelphia Magazine.

Indian Orchards Farm at 29 Copes Lane in Media is a family-run farm open from 10 AM to 6 PM daily.

Here, you’ll find a variety of 100-plus-year-old heritage apple trees where you can pick your own apples.

The farm uses organic growing techniques, so these apples won’t be coated in chemicals.

For those who don’t want to pick their own, you can also check out a farm stand for fruits and vegetables.

Reservations are not required, but there is a $3.50 admission fee.

Linvilla Orchards at 137 Knowlton Road in Media is open for produce-picking from 8 AM to 4 PM daily. Reservations are recommended but not required.

Admission is $11 online, $13 walk-up.

Apples dominate in the pick-your-own orchards. More apples and apple products are in the farm market.
