Just five months after it opened on two floors in part of the former Boyd Theater near Rittenhouse Square, the splashy sports bar Bankroll Club auctioned off all of its equipment and furnishings, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The 350-seat restaurant opened on March 3 with a purported $25 million budget. Now, its sofas, TVs, and pizza ovens can all be found being offered in an online auction at Bidspotter.com. The auction is among the largest single such sell-offs in the city in recent years.

The entire batch was divided into 1,244 lots by Quaker City Auctioneers, including everything from nine leather sofas to the smallest spoons.

“All the ice scoopers you’d ever need,” said Mike Anderson, manager of the Cavanaugh’s Rittenhouse sports bar, touring Bankroll.

According to Eric Merback, owner of Quaker City, the majority of the items are in pristine condition.

“I mean, when you see barstools for sale from a bar, normally you see a torn cushion or a shaky base,” he said. “This stuff is all brand new.”

The auction ended on August 16th.
