The Media Little League brought Pennsylvania again to the Little League World Series Friday after a 2-0 victory over Northwest Washington, D.C., writes Dan Gelston for NBC Philadelphia.

The team cleared the last hurdle at the Mid-Atlantic Regional championship game in Bristol, Connecticut.

Trevor Skowronek hit a walk-off, two-run home run in the seventh inning.

It was the team’s only hit of the game.

The Media Little League will play in the 20-team Little League World Series beginning Wednesday, Aug. 16, in Williamsport.

Levittown was the last team from Pennsylvania to win the World Series back in 1960. In total, Pennsylvania little league teams have made it to the World Series 22 times since the series started in 1947.

“I don’t think they know what’s coming,” said team manager Tom Bradley, who lives in Brookhaven. “Delco is like its own little world. I don’t think they’re ready for this accent.”

Bradley celebrated with his team Friday night at a pizza and soda bash in a Connecticut hotel.

Bradley attributed their success to the team working every day, every weekend.

“We’ve been running these kids into the ground for like three months now,” Bradley said. “It really paid off.
