Luciano Di Felice, the eldest son of Garrett Hill Pizza’s original owner, had a vision for transforming the pizzeria into a fun destination in Bryn Mawr, and $2 million dollars later, Exit 13 Gastrobar is just that, writes Ed Williams for Main Line Today.

The Italian bistro named after the Blue Route exit now has a vaulted ceiling, a second-floor dining area, and retractable garage-style glass doors. And the décor gives off a playful vibe with local license plates, street signs, and motorized European scooters adorning the walls.

“I’ve enjoyed that sense of freedom and fun riding small sports cars and bikes in Italy,” said Di Felice. “I wanted to give Exit 13 that feeling.”

Even the bar stools fit the theme. They are vintage Vespa seats. And of course, one of the signature drinks is the Summer Vespa, a blend of vodka, pink lemonade, and muddled lemon basil.

Exit’s 13’menu is filled with Italian specialties, especially hand-pressed pies.
