Media Borough is rallying behind its little leaguers. A bus trip to watch them play sold out right away.

The bus trip leaves at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16 for South Williamsport and it’s sold out, writes Deb Kiner for Penn Live.

The charter bus trip was organized by Media Borough recreation coordinator Jenn Metzger for supporters of the borough’s little league team cheering them on at the little league world series.

It sold out quickly at $20 per person.

“Bus trip filled up SO quickly. Thanks for being such an eager community,” Metzger wrote in a Facebook post.

On Saturday night at dusk in Barrall Field, residents were invited to help make banners to “send Media Little League off in style.”

The team won the Mid-Atlantic region championship on Friday against Washington, D.C. propelling it to the world series.

The borough is proud of its team, which will play in the 2023 Little League World Series against Needville, Texas, on opening day, Aug. 16.

No doubt, the residents of Media, all 5,832 of them, will be cheering them on.

Media refers to itself proudly as “Everybody’s Hometown” and it has been ranked by Niche.com as one of the best places to live in Pennsylvania.
