West Chester University is welcoming new leaders to departments across campus.

With 11 years of experience at WCU, Cheryl Neale-McFall was recently appointed the new associate provost for research and creative activities for the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, a position she has served in an interim capacity since August 2022. In Neale-McFall’s tenure as interim associate provost, the university has seen tremendous growth and excitement around faculty and student research and funding, raising WCU’s funding award growth from $5.11 million (internal and external) to $10.96 million in external funding alone. Neale-McFall has helped bring nearly $5 million in grant funding to WCU as a faculty member. She focuses her research efforts on job satisfaction, supporting students and underserved populations, and women’s leadership in academia. 

Neale-McFall holds a Ph.D. and Master of Science in Education from Old Dominion University, a master’s degree from the University of Georgia, and a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University. As the new associate provost for research and creative activities for the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Neale-McFall will promote the vitality of research and scholarship at WCU, develop research growth and funding opportunities for academic units, and coordinate research partnerships with other universities, as well as state, federal, local, private, and international entities.

Beginning June 20, Jeanine Mingé will join WCU as associate dean of the College of Arts and Humanities. With 16 years of administrative experience, Mingé most recently served as the associate provost for community engagement and impact and the executive director of the Office of the Arts at the University of North Carolina – Wilmington. Her research interests explore community activism through the arts, community-based performance, and health and wellness.

Mingé holds a Ph.D. in communication studies from the University of South Florida, a master’s degree from San Diego State University, and a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University. As the College of Arts and Humanities’ new associate dean, Mingé will assist in the operation, planning, and management of the college, including providing oversight and support throughout grant application processes. 

Beginning Aug. 7, Jill Dixon will join WCU as dean of the university libraries. Dixon most recently served as the interim dean of libraries at Binghamton University in New York, where she spent 15 years of her career. Dixon has senior-level experience in library management and administration, research and instructional services, information literacy and public services, among others. Her extensive career also includes work with the American Society of Civil Engineers, National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., and Special Olympics International. 

Dixon holds a Master of Library Science from Indiana University, and a Bachelor of Arts in international relations and history from the University of Delaware, her home state. As WCU’s dean of the university libraries, Dixon will be responsible for the administration of all library operations, including the acquisition and accessibility of library materials; the availability of appropriate library services and facilities; and the planning and evaluation required to make materials and services the best possible for university students, faculty, staff, and the needs of the local and regional communities.

Beginning Aug. 28, Timothy Jussaume will join WCU as the director of the Honors College. Jussaume was most recently the Honors Program director and associate professor of philosophy at St. Leo University in Saint Leo, Florida, where he fostered an environment of intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and driving institutional performance while delivering student-centered programs with exceptional academic quality, student engagement and experiential learning. At St. Leo, Jussaume was instrumental in modernizing the curriculum, successfully advocating for increased financial incentives for students, and building a culture of excellence and belonging. 

Jussaume holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from Villanova University. As the new director of the Honors College, Jussaume will be responsible for leading the College’s faculty and staff, guiding the development of innovative curricula, and developing an environment that encourages intellectual exploration and academic excellence.
