Eagles Center Jason Kelce of Haverford brought boisterous enthusiasm to the crowds at Subaru Park Wednesday in a game between Philadelphia Union and Charlotte FC.

And he almost broke the Union’s drum mallet, writes Jonathan Tannenwald for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The Union started having celebrity pregame drummers last year.  Kelce is the latest to participate in the ritual.

He hit the drum as hard as anyone has since the celebrity ritual started.

Afterward, Kelce chugged a beer on the field, then climbed into the River End stand, leading fans in a rendition of “No One Likes Us, We Don’t Care”.

The song became popular at Union games after fans borrowed it from English soccer.

.Kelce initially brought good karma to the Union, when a goal-making play by Julian Carranza got underway 30 seconds after the opening kickoff.

But the play fizzled out.

The crowd of 18,705 at Subaru Park did get their victory wish in the 70th minute of the game when Union scored and took a 1-0 win.

“Thank you Union for finally breaking my streak of attending losing games,” Kelce wrote on Twitter.
