Pa. Gov. Josh Shapiro speaks Tuesday at a news conference at the site of the I-95 collapse.

By now, it’s understood that the quick reopening of I-95 can be partially credited to specialized fill used for emergency repairs provided by the Eddystone firm, Aero Aggregates of North America.

Eddystone’s in Delaware County.

Ingenuity in a pinch. It’s kind of what Delaware County does, writes Stefanie Farr for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Just ask Pa. Gov. Josh Shapiro.

“This is what it looks like when the ingenuity of Delco meets the grit of Philly”, Shapiro said in a news conference Tuesday.

Delconians are pretty darn proud, calling for “the ingenuity of Delco” to show up on shirts, ships and tattoos.

Other ingenuity-grit moments?  Vietnam veteran Tom Garvey from Delaware County turned an abandoned concession stand at Veterans Stadium into an apartment where he lived for two years rent-free.

Wawa ingenuity in marketing makes it lead sponsor of the city’s Independence Day events.  Philly grit shows up in the long lines people stand in to get the free Shorti hoagies in Old City.

Other coming-together moments according to Twitter users? Dumpster pools, Tina Fey, the Philadelphia Union, Kurt Vile, stromboli, the Slinky, Gritty, sweatpants as formal wear, and “Bonner students fighting Mets fans at a Phillies game”.
