Remote jobs are in high demand; however, they aren’t for everyone. Companies look for specific qualities in remote employees. Here’s the qualities in a remote worker employers look for, according to FlexJobs.  

Personality  

An ideal remote worker would possess assertiveness, independence and a “can-do” attitude, writes Jessica Howington. They should also be organized, self-motivated and possess a strong work ethic.  

Work Set-Up 

To thrive at your job, you need a dedicated workspace. You also need a computer, phone, and access to high-speed internet. Proximity to coffee shops or bookstores with high-speed internet is also a must, in case anything goes awry at home.  

Professional Skills 

Since you’re not face-to-face with your coworkers, having effective communication skills is essential. You must also be adaptable, as your environment could affect your work productivity. Nonverbal communication skills are also a must. You must also be proficient in typing and be tech-savvy.
