New Broomall Clinic Focuses on Children’s Medical Needs
Parents of children coping with serious medical issues can now turn to a new Nemours children’s health clinic that has opened in Broomall, writes Aubrey Whelan for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Nemours Children’s Health has opened a specialized pediatric medical office in Broomall that includes doctors who are experts in 14 medical and surgical specialties, including allergy treatment, cardiology, and kidney ailments.
Nemours is a Delaware-founded pediatric health system that operates hospitals and clinics in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and Florida.
The goal of the Broomall clinic is to make outpatient care more convenient for new and returning patients.
“We’ve had a long history of presence in the suburban areas, and Broomall represents an expansion of our capabilities to care for children and to improve access for families,” said Udayan K. Shah, the system’s chief of pediatric otolaryngology, or ear, nose, and throat care, in the Delaware Valley.
The 20,000-square-foot facility has been open for 12 days and has served 1,300 patients. Nemours has about 83,000 patients in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Last year, Main Line Heath ended a 25-year affiliation with Nemours for pediatric service when it switched to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Nemours remains affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University.
