Thousands gathered in the Lincoln Financial Field parking lot May 13 just to have a bonding experience with the sold-out Taylor Swift Eras Tour.

That included Jackie Gaul of Ridley Park, writes Emily Yahr for The Washington Post.

“We’re lucky to even just be in the same city as her,” said 27-year-old Gaul.

She sat on a blanket with friends in Lot F, where the music came through clearly, thanks to a “sound tunnel” gap in the stadium’s architecture.

Tailgaters who overstay Eagles games in Lot F are usually chased out by security, but Gaul and her friends assumed no official would risk upsetting the die-hard Swift fans by making them leave.

Fans who have been frustrated with the overwhelming difficulties of getting tickets to the concerts have organized outside gatherings during the tour, like the one at Lincoln Field. The movement started on TikTok.

Philadelphia region Swift fans overwhelmed parking lots and closed streets, screaming and dancing and crying along to Swift’s vocals.

“There’s so many people here who wanted to be inside,” said Shreya Srinivasan, 23, from the Philadelphia suburbs. “And they’re still making the most of it.”
