Swimming, sports, and tons of fun await campers ages K-16 at the Summer Camp on the campus of Valley Forge Military Academy & College.

For the first time since a Covid-induced four-year hiatus, summer camp is returning to the campus of Valley Forge Military Academy & College.

The camp has been a significant draw for decades for children and their parents from Radnor and surrounding areas.

“We are thrilled to welcome campers again this summer,” said Sarah Samuels, director of Activities at VFMAC. “From the inquiries we receive and the response we are seeing for this upcoming season, we know it has been missed.”

This year, the camps at VFMAC are theme-oriented for a variety of age groups and are to be offered over a six-week period beginning June 26.

For children ages kindergarten through 6th grade, there is a traditional summer camp experience. The days will be jammed with wholesome fun and excitement with a wide variety of outdoor activities including sports, scavenger hunts, and nature hikes.

On days when rain forces campers inside, they will keep busy in the indoor gym, indoor pool, and air-conditioned movie theater.

Campers will be in touch with their arts side with a complement of arts and crafts activities as well as field trips to interesting spots around the region. Activities will change each week.

“Parents should note there is not a device to be found at the VFMAC Summer Camps,” said Samuels. “We want these camps to offer experiences that engage the campers so that they don’t even miss the screens during the day.”

For students in 5th through 8th grades, Valley Forge Summer Camp offers a STEM experience.

Campers will spend part of the day engaged in various STEM projects working in the state-of-the-art STEM lab creating projects on the 3-D printer, maker space, and other tools in the lab.

For the remainder of the day, they will have outdoor activities, team-building exercises, weekly field trips, and swimming in our indoor pool.

The STEM Camp is six weeks and also begins June 26.

Also, beginning July 17 through July 28, a two-week jewelry camp will be offered for the first time to those ages 12 to 16.

Campers will learn the basics of wire wrap jewelry as well as make five pieces of one-of-a-kind jewelry.

“This is a unique offering,” said Samuels. “This camp will allow those with a creative side to make their own individual pieces and take them home when camp is over.”

Campers can attend for all of the weeks or choose one or two.
