The boys’ basketball team at Radnor had the kind of season that could leave a permanent mark in the record books, writes Matthew De George for PA PrepLive.

“That would be awesome,” said Radnor Raptors’ Jackson Hicke. “There’s certainly potential for that. What we did this year was memorable and kind of hard to replicate in however many years to come.

It was an unprecedented season for the Central League and District 1 Class 5A champions.

Radnor achieved its first Central title in more than five decades in the league. It took a District 1 crown, had 29 straight wins, and took a trip to the PIAA quarterfinals.

Hicke, who helped put them there, would love to see this be an extended run of success.

The hope is to inspire younger generations to stay with it and keep good players in the township.

Hicke, named as the 2023 Daily Times Boys Basketball Player of the Year, finished his high school career with 1,109 points.

He was fifth in Delco at 19.3 points per game and averaged 8.3 rebounds plus assists.

Hicke was joined by Charlie Thornton, Danny Rosenblum and Cooper Mueller who were the backbone of Radnor’s renaissance.
