Christine Dorfler, a Villanova University alum who was with NBCUniversal for 20 years, has been named the new CFO for the NFL, writes Ben Fischer for Sports Business Journal.

Dorfler was CFO for the NBC Sports Group. She replaces Joe Siclare, who was CFO at the NFL for 11 years before taking on a more senior role as executive vice president of finance and league policy.

She will start her new role in May.

Dorfler is a U.S. Army veteran and a Villanova and Drexel alum. Part of her 20 years with NBCUniversal included working as CFO of NBC/Telemundo-owned stations before becoming CFO of the NBC Sports Group in May 2019.

She advised on overall strategy and structured new rights deals with the PGA Tour and others.

Dorfler was also a 2020 Sports Business Journal Game Changer honoree.

The NFL leagues and teams have seen significant gains in finances from media rights revenue increases.

According to the sources, the NFL will “continue to benefit” from Siclare’s “extensive institutional knowledge and experience as he continues to play a critical role in providing support and guidance to Christine and the clubs for the foreseeable future.”
