Intown Golf Club, a members-only Atlanta social club for golfers, is planning to open in Radnor, writes Emma Dooling for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The private club will accommodate 250 people and cover 15,000 square feet.

Intown has signed a lease for the site in the Lincoln Financial Center. The club plans to open in early 2024.

It will have eight golf simulator bays and lounges, a putting green, a private dining room, conference space, and a Great Room with a fireplace.

The Atlanta company likes the Philadelphia region for its golf heritage, a high number of historic golf clubs, and for its bad weather, which limits the golf season.

“Most of [the] major cities in the U.S. have run out of real estate to build golf courses — what was built 100 years ago is what you’ve got. So there tend to be limited options for those living and working in metropolitan areas,”  said co-founder and CEO Michael Williamson.

Intown zeroed in on Radnor because it will be convenient for its members, with St. Davids Golf Club, the John Capelli Golf Range, and Gulph Mills Golf Club nearby.
