While catching food thrown at him from various distances with his mouth might be an unusual talent, it has earned Glenolden resident Mike Regan a spot in front of the judges for the 2018 summer season of America’s Got Talent, writes Stephanie Farr for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Regan honed his skill in the cafeteria of Monsignor Bonner High School. One day, his friend Rob Scheetz started throwing candy at him, and Regan never missed. His theology teacher recognized the talent and pushed them to enter the school’s talent show.

“Mr. Rodgers would have a big bag of Skittles in class every day, and he’d be like, ‘Throw the full bag at him!’” said Regan.

His crowning achievement was catching a marshmallow dropped 135 feet down from the Ben Franklin Bridge, and it only took him six tries.

Regan and Scheetz tried out for the hit show America’s Got Talent in December in New York City. They got to the audition round and then traveled to Los Angeles to display their unusual talent in front of a panel of celebrity judges. The outcome will be revealed during the summer.
