Former Country Singer to Head Wawa’s Expansion in Tennessee
Megan Salvador, a pageant queen who’s also been an aspiring doctor, singer, and real estate broker, has been chosen by Wawa to get things set when it makes its move to Tennessee, writes Drew Hutchinson for Nashville Business Journal.
The native Louisianan was in Nashville for a record deal but ended up a broker at real estate firms 615 Ventures and CRE Inc.
She expects the type of work she’s doing now as a real estate broker will stay the same, except Wawa will be her only client.
“In brokerage, you’re a mile wide and an inch deep. And with Wawa, I’m an inch wide and a mile deep. I’m doing the same thing as a broker, but just for one person — and I’m better at that.”
Salvador started out wanting to be a doctor and was pre-med at LSU.
Then she got a record deal as a country singer and was a finalist twice on “American Idol” so Salvador decided to give music a shot.
She did a tour and released an album “but you can’t do that for long and also not have a ton of money.”
Real estate work was her backup plan, which then became full-time.
