Wine bars are inviting spaces for those moving beyond the regular bar scene and experiencing a deep dive into the wine experience, writes Maddy Weitzer-Lamma and Hira Qureshi for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

You’ll find a greater variety of wines here as well as bartenders and servers with greater knowledge and love of wine they are eager to share.

A wine bar will usually let you taste the wine so you don’t have to commit to a whole bottle if you don’t like it.

There are two wine bars worth noting in Delaware County.

320 Market is in Swarthmore and Media. There’s grab-and-go food and beer, and also a varied, affordable selection of wines by the glass and bottles to go.

“They’ve focused on natural and low-intervention wines since 1991, so they know what they’re doing. I think they were one of the first to do a bottle shop focused on natural wine,” Emokpae said. “I think the breadth of their list is absolutely incredible.”

You can also check out Di Bruno Bros. in Wayne. Besides its gourmet offerings of meats, cheeses, and high-end groceries, it also features ones from various regions, including Italy.
