Those who live in Upper Darby may not fully appreciate all the Upper Darby attractions, but for travelers, Upper Darby is a “fantastic addition to your itinerary because it’s also a historic place, brimming with old houses and trails,” writes Rj Sotelo for Travel Lens.

It’s also only 20 minutes from Philadelphia, where there’s other cool stuff to see and do.

Also in its favor?  Lots of Upper Darby attractions are free.

Like Darby Creek and the Upper Darby Underground Railroad Trail.

Upper Darby Sellers Memorial Free Library offers a “beautiful and homey library” if you want some free quiet time. The building’s history makes it Instagram-worthy.

Naylors Run Park has lush greenery and a small stream for a serene vibe, along with some of the best picnic infrastructure, playgrounds, and tennis courts.

The Darby Creek Trail in Drexel Hill is the community’s most famous tourist attraction, leading you to waterfalls,  serene waters, and interesting rock formations.

Other noted attractions include Arlington Cemetery, Beverly Hills Recreation Area, the Observatory Recreation Area, the historic Lower Swedish Cabin, Pilgrim Park, and Darby Creek Valley Park.
