Netherland Providence's Chief of Police was sworn in as president of the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police.

Nether Providence’s chief of police is getting another title. David Splain was sworn in as the 2022-2023 president of the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police taking over for David Steffan of Northern Lancaster County. In addition to the presidential position, he’s also taken on many other roles, writes Paul Vigna for PennLive.com.

David Splain is the vice president of the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association. In 2020 he served as president of the Police Chiefs Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Splain had yet another presidential role for the Delaware County Police Chiefs Association in 2020.

Splain started his career in law enforcement over 35 years ago in North Wildwood, New Jersey. He then joined the Darby Borough Police Department and then was hired full-time with the Yeadon Police Department.

His ceremony as president of the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police took place at the four-day annual conference in the Poconos.

“I’m honored to represent law enforcement across the Commonwealth and carry on the noble work of President Steffen,” Splain said in a press release. “We remain committed to upgraded training and recruitment for our police departments serving cities, townships, and boroughs across our great state. I’m humbled by the support of my colleagues.”
