Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino in Chester recorded total revenue of more than $3 million in April as sports betting in Pennsylvania entered the slow season, according to a staff report from PlayPennsylvania.

Overall, Pennsylvania’s online and retail sportsbooks dropped to $572.8 million in wagers in April. This is 20 percent under $715 million in March. However, the expected post-NCAA Tournament dip was accompanied by a higher win percentage and sizable year-over-year gains of 19 percent.

The April figure is up 19% from $479.4 million in April 2021.

“The NBA Playoffs, the Final Four, and the first month of baseball gave just enough inventory with general interest to keep bettors engaged in April,” said Dustin Gouker, lead analyst at PlayUSA.com. “But sportsbooks won’t be so lucky going forward with the Penguins and Sixers eliminated, and the Pirates and Phillies off to slow starts.”

Harrah’s Philadelphia reported total revenue of $3,487,409, which is the seventh-highest in Pennsylvania. The majority of that came from slots, which accounted for $2,157,754 of the entire sum. Tables brought in $558,899, while poker made $770,756. The Chester casino also recorded $268,000 worth of promos.

State and local taxes for the casino in April came out to $1,224,234.
