Immaculata University has announced the 2021-2022 recipients of its Student Leadership Awards.

“To see our students grow into dedicated, smart, reliable leaders, who serve as role models to the entire campus, is what makes an Immaculata education so special,” said Patricia A. Canterino, Vice President for Student Development & Undergraduate Admissions and Dean of Students.

Lauren Kolenda, a junior from Exton, received the Rising Student Leader Award for her commitment to serve the Immaculata community side-by-side with the elected student leaders and administration of the campus. The award honors a student who helps to complete any task needed while modeling the core values and mission of the university. The rising leader shows promise to continue to exemplify growth and development as a leader.

Alexandra Bethman, a senior from Hatboro, received the Monsignor Hartnett Medal. Monsignor Harnett traveled the world bringing help to the poorest of the poor. He has been honored by many nations for his relief work. He retired to Immaculata College in 1987 where he acted as chaplain.

To each person, he revealed the beauty of a life of service and the compassion of Christ. In memory of Monsignor Harnett, a medal is presented to the senior who has expressed his/her concern for social justice through involvement in volunteer service to the poor and needy.
