Guests Turn Out to Celebrate 5th Anniversary of The Foundation for Delaware County
The Foundation for Delaware County celebrated its 5th anniversary on May 19.
More than 300 guests turned out to join the foundation at the Ballroom at Ellis Preserve in Newtown Square to celebrate the milestone.
They were charged with ensuring that the foundation would benefit this community in perpetuity.
Joan Richards, former President/CEO of the Crozer-Keystone Health System and Bob Bruce, former President of Widener University, were honored by the foundation with the Founders award for having the vision to create a community foundation just over five years ago when they were serving at the Crozer-Keystone Health System.
Reb Speare, Partner at Speare and Hughey, received the foundation’s first Door Opener award. Reb has consistently spoken about The Foundation for Delaware County to fellow professional advisors, helping them understand the invaluable partnership role the foundation can play with clients with philanthropic interests.
More than $125K raised from this 5th-anniversary event will go toward supporting the foundation’s critical work.
The Foundation was created on July 1, 2016. In the past five years, it has served more than 10,000 people a year through its public health programs, including:
- Nurse-Family Partnership
