Florida Mall in Development Would be Double the Size of King of Prussia

King of Prussia Mall.

The King of Prussia Mall may soon have new competition in the country for being one of the biggest malls, writes Cukia M for the Construction Review Online.

Developer Triple Five Group is planning to construct American Dream Mall near Everglades National Park in Florida. The $4 billion retail and entertainment complex would be about double the size of King of Prussia Mall, which would make it the new largest mall in the United States.

The project is not a typical mall, but instead falls under the category of “destination malls” that often attract tourists from the entire region rather than just people who live locally. In fact, it would more resemble an amusement park and include a water park with an indoor pool, an ice rink, a ski slope, many restaurants, and up to 1,200 businesses.

The project still does not have a specified timetable. While the developer has received local permission, it still needs to receive a number of permits along with more funding and a stormwater runoff infrastructure proposal.
