Aqua Pennsylvania Invests $4.4 Million in Infrastructure Improvement Projects Throughout Delaware County
Aqua Pennsylvania has announced that $4.4 million in infrastructure improvement projects are underway in Darby and Marple townships and Yeadon and Folcroft boroughs to improve service reliability for customers throughout Delaware County.
In Darby Township, crews recently started working on a $1.2 million project replacing 5,055 feet of aging six- and 16-inch water mains with new six- and eight-inch ductile iron water mains on the following streets:
- Stratford Road between Ashland Avenue and Westbridge Road
- Park Drive between Crescent Drive and Stratford Road
- Surrey Lane, Oakwood Drive, Hillcrest Drive between Park Drive and Stratford Road
Aqua’s work is expected to be completed in July, weather permitting. Final road restoration is expected to be completed by the fall.
Crews in Marple Township are working on a $1.2 million project replacing 4,631 feet of aging four-, six-, and eight-inch water mains with new six- and eight-inch ductile iron water mains on the following streets:
- South New Ardmore Avenue between West Chester Pike and Cornell Circle
- Cornell Circle between South New Ardmore Avenue and South New Ardmore Avenue
Aqua’s work is expected to be completed in July, weather permitting. Final road restoration is expected to be completed by the fall.
In Yeadon Borough, crews are at work on a $1 million project to replace 2,608 feet of aging six- and eight-inch water mains with new six- and eight-inch ductile iron water mains on the following streets:
- Arbor Road, Pleasant Road and Laurel Road between Darnell Avenue and Parmley Avenue
- Parmley Avenue between Church Road and Pleasant Road
Aqua’s work is expected to be completed in May, weather permitting. Final road restoration is expected to be completed by the fall.
Crews in Folcroft Borough are working on a $1 million project replacing 4,200 feet of aging eight-inch water mains with new eight-inch ductile iron mains on the following streets:
- Ashland Avenue between Delmar Drive and the end of the cul-de-sac on Ashland Avenue
- Henderson Boulevard between Delmar Drive and Columbia Avenue
- Columbia Avenue between Ashland Avenue and Henderson Boulevard
Aqua’s work is expected to be completed by the end of May, weather permitting. Final road restoration is expected to be completed by the fall.
The new water mains will reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water and improve water flow in the area.
