The Premier Lacrosse League returns to Chester and Subaru Park Sept. 18.

Subaru Park in Chester is known for soccer as home stadium for the Philadelphia Union, but on Sept. 18, it will host the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) title game, writes Olivia Reiner for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Subaru Park hosted the inaugural PLL title game and inaugural championship game in 2019 between the Whipsnakes and Redwoods.

“Subaru Park has hosted some of the most memorable moments in our league’s history, from the Whipsnakes’ championship victory in 2019 to Chaos’ semifinal upset of Atlas in 2021,” said PLL co-creator Michael Rabil. “We’re proud to return to Philadelphia for our 2022 championship.”

The PLL was created in 2019 by brothers Paul and Michael Rabil. The Premier Lacrosse League is made up of eight teams not tied to specific markets that tour different cities.

Subaru Park won’t be its only stop of the season. It will tour June to September at 13 locations.

“Union Sports & Entertainment and the Philadelphia Union are proud to welcome the Premier Lacrosse League to Subaru Park for the 2022 championship,” Union president Tim McDermott said. “We are confident lacrosse fans across the Delaware Valley will have an unforgettable game-day experience.”
