Havertown Home’s Christmas Display Sets Neighborhood Aglow With Anticipation

By

The Jackson family’s mega light display on Lawrence Road in Havertown has become a holiday tradition to many in the past 26 years, reports Dave Edwards for 6abc.

“It seems like as soon as we turn it on, within 15 or 20 minutes kids are over with their parents. Some of them walk by and wait for them to come on,” says Trish Jackson.

Rick and Trish Jackson started the light display for their son, Aaron, now 31, with two small lights down by the driveway. It just got bigger every year.

The centerpiece is a sleigh built by Aaron’s grandfather.

“He’s not with us anymore but that’s a little piece we’ll always remember him by,” Aaron says.

There’s been only one year when they didn’t’ light up the yard, the year Trish’s mom passed.

Suddenly, people were sending cards and knocking on their door.

“A lot of people came up and they were asking us, wanting to know if anything was wrong,” Rick says. “It was really nice.”

“We’re happy it means so much to people. It means a lot to us as well,” Trish Jackson says.
