Game on State in Media is part candy store, part arcade, part nostalgia, all fun, writes Timothy Walton for 6abc.com.

“We needed to find a way to get people back to do things together, “ says Eric Rubin, owner of Game on State.

The new arcade/candy store has old-school games like Super Mario Bros. and Asteroids, Skee Ball, and Bow Hockey, but also virtual reality games and the newest pinball creation, Godzilla.

Then there are the 200 varieties of new and classic candy choices.

“We have grandparents coming in here with their grandkids,” says Aimee Rubin, owner of Game on State.

Patrons buy a flat fee timed ticket so there are no cards, quarters, or tokens.

There’s rental space for parties, adults or children.

Game on State is an inclusive space for people with disabilities.

“It provides an opportunity for someone in a wheelchair to spend their time with one machine playing a hundred different games,” Eric Rubin says. “We want to make sure that anyone who comes in here can find something that they love.”

They’ve also partnered with a local school district to host Top Shop, a student-run market inside the arcade.
