By

Anyone who thinks they were affected by Wawa’s data breach have until Nov. 29, 2021 to file a claim against a $9 million lawsuit settlement, reports the 6abc digital staff for 6abc.com.

Applicants are eligible for cash or a gift card and can no longer sue Wawa over the data breach.

The breach took place between March 4, 2019 and December 12, 2019, exposing customer credit and debit card numbers and names.

Eligible recipients include:

  • $5 Gift Cards. Those who made a credit or debit card purchase at a Wawa during the breach, suffered no fraud on their card but had to spend time monitoring their accounts.
  • $15 Gift Cards. Customers who made a credit or debit card Wawa purchase during the breach and can prove an attempt at fraud or fraud on their card after the transaction and spend time monitoring their account.
  • Cash reimbursement of up to $500. Customers who made a credit or debit card Wawa purchase during the breach and can prove they lost or spent out-of-pocket money in connection to the fraud attempt or action.

Those who want to exclude themselves from the settlement must opt out by Nov. 12, 2021.
