Havertown Man’s Viral Tik Tok Videos Compare Delco, Great Britain

By

Great. Now Brenden Guy is having trouble with the Delco accent.

A British man in Havertown has gone viral with his “culture shock” Tik Tok videos as he compares his experiences in Delaware County with life in the U.K, reports the 6abc Digital Staff and Jennifer Heller for 6abc.com.

Brenden Guy is originally from England but actually moved to Delaware County from elsewhere in the U.S.  His videos have generated more than 8 million views.

“I moved here four years ago after living in San Francisco for 10 years and I was not expecting to hear a local accent quite as thick as this one,” Guy said. “It was a change of pace for me to be the one struggling a little to understand people because it’s usually the other way around!”

In his first “culture shock” video, Brenden Guy is stunned when an American restaurant offers “free” refills.

Other cultural differences?  Baseball going into extra innings. Fourth of July fireworks when it’s not Fourth of July; strangers on the street saying “hi.”

In one video, Guy asks for biscuits (cookies in Britain) and looks confused when he’s asked if he wants gravy with it.
