Meridian Bank has been recognized as the leading SBA lender in eastern Pennsylvania by total dollars lent, having dispersed $28.18 million in SBA 7a loans through the first half of the SBA fiscal year (Oct. 1, 2020 through May 31, 2021).
The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Eastern Pennsylvania District Office recently released the list of the top SBA lenders in eastern Pennsylvania, a region that comprises 40 counties. Of the 77 institutions that lent SBA dollars in this half of the state, Meridian ranked first, exceeding the amounts of much larger competitors and more than doubling its own results from the previous fiscal year.
Led by Rocco Perate, Senior Vice President of Small Business Administration Lending, Meridian’s SBA team is consistently recognized as a leading SBA lender in the region and as a top 50 SBA lender in the nation.
“Our team worked tirelessly through the pandemic, not only for Meridian, but to keep businesses afloat and to keep jobs and commerce in the neighborhoods where we live and work,” said Perate. “This recognition emphasizes the importance of Meridian’s mission, and of community banks and local businesses as a whole, working to preserve and grow the economic vitality of the markets we serve.”
