Delaware County’s Reported New Daily COVID-19 Cases Remain Above 100

Two new COVID-19-related deaths were reported Friday, June 4, from Darby Borough and, according to the Chester County Health Department.

The health department is reporting a total of 1,449 COVID-19-related deaths in Delaware County.

Of those, 838 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 48 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

New cases

The Chester County Department of Health site reported 165 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County for Thursday, June 3. Total cases are 49,663.

Prospect Park continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 752, affecting 11.58 percent of its 6,492 population.

Upper Darby has the most total cases, with 7,390 cases reported, or 8.91 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

Negative tests

The county has had 248,994 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 95.26 percent recovery rate.

  • 20 to 29: 8,366 cases
  • 30 to 39: 7,398cases

  • 70 to 79: 2,798 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,671 cases
