Delaware County’s Reported New COVID-19 Cases for June 3 Remain Above 100

No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported Thursday, June 3, according to the Chester County Health Department.

The health department is reporting a total of 1,447 COVID-19-related deaths in Delaware County.

Of those, 838 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 48 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

New cases

The Chester County Department of Health site reported 197 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County for Thursday, June 3. Total cases are 49,498.

Prospect Park continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 750, affecting 11.55 percent of its 6,492 population.

Upper Darby has the most total cases, with 7,366 cases reported, or 8.88 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

Negative tests

The county has had 248,606 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 95.14 percent recovery rate.

  • 10 to 19: 5,980 cases
  • 20 to 29: 8,312 cases
  • 30 to 39: 7,338 cases
  • 40 to 49: 6.698 cases

  • 70 to 79: 2,795 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,670 cases

The state is reporting 36 COVID-19 deaths for Thursday, June 3. Total deaths are 27,295.
