Child Guidance Resource Centers Hosts Successful Anti-Racism Panel in Coatesville

Child Guidance Resource Centers hosted its second successful roundtable panel discussion June 4 in Coatesville about inclusion, anti-racism, safety, and mental health in our communities.

The discussions are part of a commitment by Child Guidance to build and increase awareness of these issues.

The virtual event, “Let’s Talk About It: Coatesville”, featured panelists that included:

  • Nydea Graves, City Councilwoman
  • Deborah Willet, Grandfamilies Program Coordinator
  • Jarvis Berry, CYI Executive Director
  • Keith Wilburn, Coatesville Kids to College, and;
  • Josh Crans, The Bridge Academy

The discussion was moderated by, Elgin Bailey, from the Friends Association.

More than 50 attendees tuned in to hear what the panelists had to say.

Neighborhood Safety Solutions Initiative

Child Guidance Resource Centers’ goal is to host virtual community round table discussions across Delaware, Chester, Philadelphia, and Montgomery counties.

This initiative, called the Child Guidance Neighborhood Safety Solutions Initiative, aims to provide a space for all neighborhoods to have an opportunity to hear from and ask questions to, elected officials, community leaders, school representatives, clergy, and more.

The focus is on collaborative, inclusive change. The hope is to help neighborhoods succeed and become stronger.

Child Guidance Resource Centers, based in Havertown, was founded in 1956 and continues to help 9,600 children and families annually who benefit from its 24 programs.

Child Guidance Resource Centers has been providing services for those who struggle with autism, anxiety, ADHD, learning disabilities, depression, developmental disabilities, trauma, and truancy.
